Introduction

Excuse me. Do you have five minutes to talk?

I am a VR researcher and currently, my team is studying to find whether there are risky phenomena in playing social VR. Do you mind sparing 5 minutes to participate in our interview and share your experience with us?


Interview questions

  • Since when did you start to use social VR?

  • How many hours per week do you usually spend time on social VR?

  • Did you have any experiences of the unethical or risky situation in social VR as a victim? any episodes?

What I mean by unethical is anything that makes you uncomfortable because of other avatars.

  • How was your feeling at the moment?

  • How did you deal with it?

  • Oppositely, have you ever commit unethical behavior in social VR?

  • Could you tell us more details?

  • How was your feeling at the moment?

  • How did you deal with it?

  • Overall either you as victim or committer, was the feeling in social VR different than the feeling in the real-world?

  • Overall, regarding the ethical problem in social VR, what is the riskiest phenomenon in social VR?

  • In your opinion, who should take the responsibility to address those ethical problems in social VR?

  • Lastly, any suggestions to develop healthy social VR?

  • If you don’t mind, may I ask you how old you are?
